Rock Band is one of those games that many gamers are elated about. Others seem to swear by Guitar Hero, but there is nothing wrong with some healthy competition. The game comes from MTV Games and is heavily influenced by a much more rhythm based gameplay mechanic than that of Rock Band. Furthermore, there are many instruments to play. You were limited to just a guitar in Guitar Hero. Will Rock Band bring down the juggernaut known as Guitar Hero? Or will Rock Band fail miserably? Gamers will know the answer to that question when the game is released. For the two people out there who will actually play this game instead of Mass Effect, Rock Band is slated for a November 20, 2007 release date.Countdown to Metal Gear Solid 4: over 4 months away

Overall I was disappointed with the demo of Rock Band. Not only was the guitar worse than the one found in GH, but the music seems like it needs all the instruments to be interesting (if you just use a guitar many parts of the song will just be empty). For now I'd give it a thumbs down, unless you have all of the instruments and friends to play with, in that case it could be an excellent band.
Erm, an excellent 'purchase' I mean.
I am planning to rent this game.
